Event Marketing

WOW your customers with Event Marketing

Have you ever had an event but wanted it MORE than just another event?  I mean, have you ever wanted to pull off something different and amazing to set you and your business apart?  Enter Event Marketing.

Event marketing is creating a themed event (like a grand opening, product promotion, or personal celebration) with the specific intent of promoting a product, cause or organization.  Event marketing is sometimes called live marketing or participatory advertising.  The concept is simple: get people to interact with your, your brand, or your product, in some way (hopefully in a unique and amazing way they will remember for years to come… and make them buy from you.)

Event Marketing Ideas

There are many ways you can craft your own unique event marketing experience.  But here are some ideas to bring the most our of your next event:

QR Codes are a great way to get people to learn more about your product.  Maybe you can create a scavenger hunt with QR codes placed around an area (or around town at various store locations) and each QR code will point to a different video, with a “word of the day” and a location of the next QR code.

Another idea is to give away a big discount if they friend you on Facebook RIGHT THEN in front of you on their smart phone. This works great at large events, like trade shows.  Maybe they get a free t-shirt, or whatever for becoming a fan.  But make it something worth while for them.

Integrate video testimonials of your product.  Maybe even have a beauty team standing by in case anyone feels scared of being on video.  People get to share their honest experience with a product.

Create an online social experience.  Use social networks to tweet or post updates during the event.  This can help other people who are unable to be at the event be a part of it… it can also bring in more people to your event.

There are lots of ways to craft your event.  And they don’t have to be outrageous.  Your event might be as simple as some decorations, hot dogs, and a clown making balloon animals for the kids.  But the point is you want to make it fun, memorable, and interactive.  The more you can get people to interact with the product or company you’re selling – the more success you have.

Track Event Marketing

But let’s not just stick with a gut felling “it was a good event”.  We need to track our success.  We can do that by finding out how many people showed up, finding out how many people became part of your network on facebook, or twitter, how many leads you received, or how many people purchased AT the event.  Even if you don’t sell a lot at the event, event marketing is often about branding and lead generation.

Event Marketing Value

Not everyone is geared towards crafting an event.  Event marketing can help take your small event to an awesome experience. The only question you have to ask yourself is… how much “WOW” do you want from your customers in your next event?  Holding a well planned event takes time and energy.  And all that costs money.  But it’s worth it when you double your social network following, or you increase next quarters sales by 25%.

There can be HUGE rewards from a properly planned event.  And Townsend Creations can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and waste of a poorly planned event.  Call Townsend Creations Inc to help with your next Event marketing experience.
